Coronavirus and the lockdown haven’t stopped content creators from making gut wrenching films. OTT’s are the new saviours for film makers. From Netflix, Amazon to Apple TV and Disney plus Hotstar, every digital platform has something for everybody.

The top priority and the early awaited film this July has to be ‘Dil Bechara’ by Mukesh Chhabra starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi. Notably, Dil Bechara is the last film of late actor Sushant and fans are already counting days for its premiere on July 24 on Disney plus Hotstar.

Vidya Balan’s ‘Shakuntala Devi’ trailer had already caught the attention of many. This is a biopic of renowned mathematician Shakuntala Devi and is all set to release on July 31 on Amazon Prime video.

Breathe into the shadows is a web series with 12 episodes starring Abhishek Bachchan, Nithya Menen and Amit Sadh in leading roles. It is a story of a couple’s amazing feats to get their kidnapped daughter back.

2. LAW- Amazon Prime Video

Law is a kannada film which revolves around a female law student who fights injustice despite the odds attacking her. The film marks the acting debut of Ragini Prajwal. The film also features veteran actor Mukhyamantri Chandru who plays the role of a judge.

Khayali Pulao is a short film featuring famous Youtuber Prajakta Koli aka ‘Mostly sane’. The 24 minute film is available on Prajakta Koli’s Youtube channel ‘Mostly Sane’. The film revolves around teenage aspirations and gender inequalities which are still prevalent in rural Haryana.

Bulbbul is Anvita Dutt’s directional debut and is produced by Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma. The film’s backdrop is set in late 19th century in Bengal. The film is a supernatural horror and revolves around a child bride whose quest for kindness pulls her into peril. The film features Rahul Bose and Tripti Dimri in lead roles.

5. Sufiyum Sujatayum – Amazon Prime Video

Sufiyum Sujathayum is a Malayam flick featuring Jaya Surya and Aditi Rao Hydari. This is the first Malayalam film to have a digital release.  The film is directed by Naranipuzha Shanavas. The film is a tale of forbidden love between a Hindu-Muslim pair. Aditi Rao Hydari plays the role of a speech impaired upper caste girl who falls in love with a Sufi.
