Corey Bolds is leaving the Penn State football program. The redshirt freshman defensive tackle and former four-star recruit from New Jersey announced the news on Sunday. He spent less than a year with the program after enrolling last summer, and he said he'll seek other opportunities.

"My time here has been memorable & I will forever cherish the bonds with guys I can call my brothers," Bolds wrote on social media.

"With that being said, I'm announcing that I will no longer attend the university."

It's a minor blow for the Lions, as they lost three key contributors from the 2017 roster as just Kevin Givens and Robert Windsor return from the list of impact players. However, Fred Hansard, one of Bolds' classmates, is expected to be ready to contribute, and PJ Mustipher and Judge Culpepper, both 2018 singers who are already on campus, could play as true freshmen.

The news also puts the Lions at 85 scholarships heading into the new season, which is the limit imposed by the NCAA.
