Your health reflects what you eat. The food you eat everyday affects your overall health. Healthy diet is key to a long life free from diseases. Eat junk food in the morning is not the best way to begin your day.

Breakfast, which is the most important meal of the day, has to be healthy. And never skip your breakfast. Today's fast pace of life has compelled many to either skip breakfast or to opt for fast food inorder to save time. Health experts have debunked both the habits.

Here are some food items that are best to avoid for breakfast:

Junk food like chips, fried fast food, soft drinks and sweets like candy should be avoided for breakfast in the morning.

Avoid Donuts and Pastries for breakfast as they have high sugar content and excess carbohydrates. They are best to be had as a special treat rather than for breakfast.

Eggs are good for breakfast, but don't combine it with cheese and meat.

Paranthas (Indian flat bread) cooked in ghee or oil are not healthy. But if you cannot avoid them at breakfast, then make sure that it's cooked with very little oil. Eat them with curd to add a touch of health.

Hostel in India often serve Poori-Aaloo for breakfast to students. As first meal of the day it's really an unhealthy option. If there are no options then blot the excess oil from the Pooris with a tissue paper.
