Steve Stephens suspected to be in Pennsylvania

Steve Stephens, the Facebook killer from Cleveland, is somewhere in Pennsylvania as his mobile may have given clues to law enforcement about his approximate whereabouts.

The suspects mobile pinged near Erie in Pennsylvania, which is about 140 kilometers east of Cleveland. Stephen is charged with aggravated murder for the execution style killing of 74-year-old Robert Godwin on Sunday and uploading video the killing in Facebook.

The FBI and U.S. Marshals are on the manhunt and have expanded their search to five states: Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana and Michigan. But, the Cleveland police also said that the suspect could still be in Ohio.

According to police, Stephens is considered armed and mentally disturbed. In one Facebook video that has been taken down, Stephens claimed that he has killed more than 10 people, but no law enforcement agency has been able to corroborate his claims.

Stephens told his mother that he began killing because he was mad at his girlfriend, Joy Lane. Stephens made Godiwn say the name “Joy Lane” before he pulled the trigger and murdered the man.

Lane, via social media assured that she is safe and physically unharmed and is under the protection of law enforcement until this tragic situation comes to its conclusion.

“We had been in a relationship for several years. I am sorry that all of this has happened. My heart & prayers goes out to the family members of the victim(s).

Steve really is a nice guy … he is generous with everyone he knows. He was kind and loving to me and my children. This is a very difficult time for me and my family. Please respect our privacy at this time, Lane said.”
