Pittsburgh drivers are the worse in the nation

According to a report released by the EverQuote, Pittsburgh drivers are the worse in the United States. The report is released to highlight how Americans performed behind the wheel in the last 11 months. The data is based on drivers, who use the company’s app, EverDrive.

"The app doesn't know if you're turning before oncoming traffic. However, if a driver were to accelerate quickly out of a stop and make an aggressive turn, that would certainly be dinged in both categories, and affect the driver's score. Therefore, I would say the 'Pittsburgh Left' is accounted for by EverDrive,” said EverQuote’s director of communications Ryan Ruffing.

Pittsburgh motorist scored a 71%. The report showed that 35 % motorist in the city used cell phones during driving and were speeding 52% of the time.

Pennsylvania also ranks among the worst states for driving. At no. 48 the state only ranked better than Connecticut and Rhode Island. 37% of Pennsylvania drivers had at least one distracted driving event due to use of cell phone.

The study looked at five behaviors: phone use, speeding, acceleration, braking and turning.
