Sheetz, Inc. Wants to Hire 3,400 Workers

The Pennsylvania based Sheetz, Inc. convenience store chain wants to hire about 3,400 full and part time employees at its 550 locations.

The company is a chain of gas stations/convenience stores, which is owned by the Sheetz family. The headquarters of the company is situated at Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Other than Pennsylvania, Its stores are widespread in North Carolina, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and West Virgina.

Sheetz is leading the effort in attempts to change the rules regarding alcohol sales in the state to allow sales in convenience stores. According to the Pennsylvania state law, alcohol cannot be sold in convenience stores.

Beer must be sold at a beer distributor while liquor must be sold only at state operated stores titled “Wines & Spirits.”

Sheetz has long used the “Sh” and “Z”, with which the company’s name begins and ends with, in various marketing strategies, including the company’s gift card, the Sheetz Z-Card. The SheetZ chicken wings marketed as “Shwingz.” Its breakfast sandwich is known as “Shmuffinz” and their “Nachoz.”

Open interviews for the jobs begin Wednesday.
