Every year August 13 is observed as International Lefthanders Day 2019. The day is dedicated to the lefties of the world.

Reportedly only 10 percent of people in the world are left-handed. Being a left-hander in a world which is tailor-made for a right-hander is not at all easy.

Southpaws are often seen complaining about using scissors, guitars and computer mice designed for right-handed use.

However, here are a few unknown facts about left-handers that you little or very knew about:

1. Left-hander booze more than right-handers



A recent survey found that more than 25,000 people from 12 countries found left-handers drinking more.

2. Bible mentioned positive about right-handers more than left-handers.



The bible mentioned positively 100 times about the right-handers in the Bible, while the left hand is mentioned only 25 times, all negatively.

3. Left-handers mostly have speech disorder and are schizophrenic

Left-handers are more vulnerable to having a speech disorder involving frequent problems with the normal fluency and flow of speech. Schizophrenic is a disorder that affects a person's ability to think, feel and behave clearly.

4. Mothers over 40 are more likely to have a left-handed child



Mothers who deliver a baby at the age of 40 or more are 128 percent more likely to have a left-handed baby than a woman in her 20s.

5. The life span of left-handers is shorter than right-handers

According to a study survive on average nine years less than right-handers.

6. Left-handers process things faster than right-handers



According to the Research, connections between the right and left sides of the brain are faster in left-handed people.
